Huddersfield New College proudly welcomed back ex-student Jugal Thapa.

Jugal joined Huddersfield New College in 2009, as a Foundation level student. He spent 4 years at the College, successfully completing the BTEC Level 1 Foundation Diploma, the BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Sport and the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science.

Jugal progressed from the College to the University of Huddersfield, and was awarded a BSc degree in Nutrition and Public Health in 2016. He is currently completing his Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning at the University of Salford.

Jugal spoke fondly of his time at Huddersfield New College, saying: “My time at Huddersfield New College was the best time of my educational career. The College helped me to find my passion and the staff inspired and motivated me to aim high. I would not be about to complete a Masters qualification this summer without the support and the dedication of the staff at Huddersfield New College.”

Jugal is a shining example of the difference Huddersfield New College can make to the lives of the young people who attend the College. This was both recognised and praised by Ofsted, who concluded that Huddersfield New College ‘transforms lives’. It was one of the key reasons Ofsted judged the College to be Outstanding in April 2016.
