Early years students and staff at Huddersfield New College recently visited the Brian Jackson Centre to deliver a collection of Christmas presents and food for families in need this festive season.

Students at the College have led a special project to collect gifts and food for families supported by the centre. The Early Years team decorated a tree and hung tags featuring names and ages of children, and students and staff from across the College donated presents and food.

The response has been fantastic, and the department visited the centre to present the gifts and food which will be distributed to families this Christmas.

Chris Madej, Head of Health and Social Care and Early Years says: “The response to our appeal has been amazing! We were delighted to be able to present so many gifts and items of food to the centre and these will now be distributed to in need families over the festive period. Our students and staff worked incredibly hard to involve the entire College community, who have helped us to care at Christmas. As a College, we hope that their efforts help families in the area enjoy this festive period.”
