Current Huddersfield New College student Hannah Moulds has secured a place at the Leeds Rhinos High Performance Netball Academy. The programme is aimed at talented athletes who have the desire and potential to play at International or National Super-League level.
Hannah plays as a Goal Shooter for the Leeds Rhinos Netball Academy and also for Loughborough Lightening and is part of the College’s Talented Athlete Support Scheme (TASS). The TASS programme supports students to combine their studies with their commitments to their chosen sport.
Hannah’s signing for the Leeds Rhinos High Performance Netball Academy will see her develop her skills further under the direction of former Yorkshire Jets Head Coach Anna Carter. Anna says: “We are really excited about Hannah’s potential. A lot of background work has taken place to ensure that the athlete experience will be outstanding and that there will be a clear progression route for them. As you would expect, the programme involves an intensive training commitment. A typical week involves training 3-4 times per week, strengthening, conditioning and weights. In addition to this Hannah may play up to two games a weekend, sometimes travelling all over the country.”
Matthew Burton, who heads up the TASS programme comments: “We would like to congratulate Hannah on her achievement. Our TASS programme offers students who have the potential to represent their sport at the highest levels to balance demanding training schedules like Hannah’s with securing their qualifications. We look forward to hearing about Hannah’s future successes as part of this high profile academy.”
