The British Dyslexia Association has awarded Huddersfield New College the ‘Dyslexia Friendly College Award’. This annual accolade was awarded to the College due to its outstanding support and access arrangements, and is a well-deserved recognition of the work that the College undertakes to support students with additional learning needs.

The College has a dedicated Study Centre hub which is staffed by a team of Support Assistants, a dedicated Access Arrangements Assessor, and two Specialist Teachers, both of whom hold PATOSS (the Professional Association for Teachers and Assessors of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) Level 7 Practicing Certificates. The team are integral to providing our students with outstanding learner support, helping them to unlock the very best of their potential and achieve results that help to place the College in the top 10% nationally for student progress.

Study Centre Manager, Andrea Lindley, says “It is wonderful for the College to be recognised for the outstanding work our support team undertake and what this means for learner outcomes. We look forward to continuing to provide our award winning support to students in the future”.
