Students who are part of Huddersfield New College’s Honours programme have benefitted from a special advice and support session where they heard more about how they could maximise their chances of a successful application to The University of Oxford.
The Honours programme aims to help students to gain the edge on their competitors for places at world-class universities through a range of support that includes visits, workshops, bespoke support and opportunities including access to Summer Schools.
Charli Hopkins, an Admissions Officer from The University of Oxford, visited HNC to lead a special session giving Honours students the chance to hear more about how they could stand out from the crowd when applying, and ask their questions. The workshop represents the start of the comprehensive support HNC provides to students who express the desire to apply for Oxbridge and other Russell Group Universities.
Gabriel Mellor, Assistant Principal and Honours Programme Lead comments: “The Honours Programme is one of the key ways we challenge students academically and personally, and support them to gain entry to world-class universities. Today was a highly insightful introduction into how they can start preparing for Oxbridge applications, the interview process and a chance to hear more about how aspiring for the top universities can strengthen their future careers. We look forward to supporting our students as they pursue their Oxbridge dreams!”
