Huddersfield New College's 'Future Journalists' today welcomed former student and Yorkshire Business Reporter Ismail Mulla as part of an inspiring workshop to help them gain industry insights and understand how they can break into this competitive industry.
Ismail completed his studies in 2013, and quickly secured his dream career as a journalist. Today he is a Business Reporter at the Yorkshire Post and returned to the College to run a special workshop session with the students on the Future Journalists programme. The College offers a range of diverse of bespoke careers advice and support for students who plan to work in competitive careers such as Medicine, Engineering, Dentistry and Law.
The group not only heard more about what a degree in Journalism involves, but also had the chance to ask Ismail about his experiences as a Journalist.

Hearing from real-life experts is a crucial part of helping our students to develop both their skills and their understanding of how they can be successful Journalists. Ismail's input was invaluable, and the group have gained a great deal from being able to ask this succcessful industry expert about the realities of breaking into this competitive field and what they can expect.
