There are two ways of getting to College by bus; subsidised College buses and normal public transport (with the possibility of a subsidised metro card).


College Buses 

Students can use college buses if they have a valid bus pass and there are two types of college bus pass; a prepaid bus pass or a hop on/hop off bus pass. College buses are specifically contracted services for the use of HNC students only, with one service each day to and from the college.  Areas covered by these services include Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Brighouse, Holme Valley, Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Spen Valley. 

If you qualify for the bursary fund, then financial help will be available to assist with the cost of this option.

Public Transport

Monthly or weekly passes are available for public buses from any bus station travel centre. Current prices are £37.80 per month or £10.30 per week.  These are for any student under the age of 19 and can be used at any time during the week with a 16-18 photocard.

If your registered (with the College) home address is over 3 miles away from the college and your address is not on a specified college bus route, then you may qualify for a subsidised metro card. To use this option, please complete bus application form 2 available by clicking here
