All Star Dancer: Hnc Talented Athlete In World Dance Finals

HNC Talented Athlete Lucy Andrew has recently returned from successfully competing in the U.S. All Star Federation Cheer and Dance (USASF) competition in Florida, where her hip hop dance group ‘Transonic’ were placed sixth in the world following a gruelling competition that saw the dancers perform against some of the world’s most talented dance groups.
The dancers joined 16,000 other athletes in Florida for the USASF competition after qualifying for the world finals at Future Cheer in Bournemouth. Lucy’s group, ‘Transonic’ who are part of the wider Tycoon Allstars Dance School, performed several times over the course of the competition weekend, reaching the top ten and finally placing 6th place in the world rankings. After a week of intense training and competition performances, the group were then able to spend time in Florida as tourists, enjoying time at Disney and Universal theme parks, and attending the ICU World Finals to watch Team England compete.
Following on from the group’s success, they will once again be performing at Future Cheer Bournemouth in June, with Team England trials on the horizon over the summer break. Lucy comments “it was such a brilliant opportunity to perform at USASF with Transonic. We worked incredibly hard in the lead up to the competition and I am proud that our hard work was recognised by the judges and it feels amazing to know that we have been placed 6th in the world. HNC’s Talented Athlete support meant that I was able to dedicate the time needed to train and achieve success in the competition whilst keeping up with my academic commitments”
