HOLISTIC HEALING: HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE STUDENTS EXPLORE COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
15.11.2023HNC recently welcomed Complementary Therapist Donna Campbell to deliver a captivating workshop to Health and Social Care students about the benefits of complementary therapy.
In Applied Health and Social Care, students explore the wide variety of healthcare and support in place for meeting individual care needs, including alternative treatments and therapies. In this workshop, students discovered more about complementary therapies, and how looking after the individual’s needs from the inside out can improve health outcomes for all. During this special session, Donna gave an insightful overview into a variety of complementary therapies, covering topics as wide ranging as crystal healing and meditation, and discussed the importance of treating patients holistically.
Throughout the session, the group were able to experience a demonstration of the therapies themselves, helping them to discover the benefits of the different therapy techniques. The session ended with an informative Q&A with Donna, with students asking insightful questions and learning more about the role complementary therapy plays in the wider care and support sector.
