HNC CELEBRATES NATIONAL CAREERS WEEK & 50 YEARS OF INSPIRING GRADUATE STORIES

HNC has shared more about what students can expect during #NationalCareersWeek, and how the College has linked to this national celebration of all things careers based with a special ‘50 years of HNC’ programme of Alumni guest speakers.

Taking place 4 – 8 March, National Careers Week (NCW) is a one-week celebration of careers guidance and education across the UK, and during the week schools, colleges and universities across the UK will be taking the opportunity to host special opportunities and events to help young people be inspired about the careers opportunities available to them.

In addition to a wide range of universities, employers and voluntary organisations, a number of former Alumni will be revisiting HNC to speak to our current students about their post-16 journey, and how they have achieved their dream careers. These include entrepreneur Shannon Martin, owner of Dotty Bridal and former Apprentice contestant who will be delivering a guest lecture to our Business students and Joe Burns,  a Music Producer who will be inspiring our students about how they can break into this competitive industry. Further guest speakers have been arranged by our faculties – look out for further information coming soon on our social media feeds!

A full list of organisations students can meet next week can be found below. All of these will be based in the Junction on the dates specified between 10am – 1.15pm.

Maria Dean, Assistant Principal, comments: “Here at HNC we support, advise and inspire students during every step of their journey so that they can fully understand the opportunities available to them post-HNC, and map out the route to their dream career or university degree. Events such as this are just one of the ways we help students to fully explore the possibilities on offer to them. In 2024 the College is celebrating 50 years of ensuring young people secure the qualifications they need to take their next steps with confidence and we are delighted that during this week a number of our high flying Alumni will be returning to HNC to reveal more about their career path. Our Alumni guest speakers will also be joining us throughout the academic year, and we look forward to hearing even more inspiring success stories!”
