SHAPING A BETTER FUTURE FOR ALL AT HNC: HEAD STUDENT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN

HNC has revealed that Year 12 students can now apply to become a Head Student. These prestigious roles see students representing their peers, and helping senior leaders to shape a College which helps every young person to become their best selves.

Applications are open to current Year 12 students, with appointments made at this time to enable them to work with the outgoing Head Student team.

Our Head Students (and Deputy Head Students, when appointed) embody all of our values as a College and play a key role in demonstrating to their peers how if they attend well, behave professionally and commit completely they will achieve their full potential. As part of this our Head Students are the voice of their fellow students, and also undertake a range of important duties such as interviewing senior staff. Naturally, these are incredibly prestigious roles which help students to shine in competitive university and job application processes. These positions also enable them to develop leadership, communication and other professional skills.

The application process mirrors a professional environment with an applicant pack, and students also need to submit a supporting statement and reference. Shortlisted applicants are then invited to interview. Students can see the Teams channel for a link to the application process. Applications close on Thursday 25 April at 4pm.

Lee Goddard, Assistant Principal comments: “Our Head Student programme continues to ensure we listen to the voice of our students, and shape our experience so that it genuinely enables them to become their best selves at HNC. As they are such critical roles, we invite applicants from students who not only reflect our values in their lived daily behaviours but are also fully committed to ensuring they improve the College experience for all. As we prepare to appoint our new Head Student team, I would like to say thank you to our outgoing team for their contribution and wish them all the best in their next steps.”
