HOLLYWOOD AT HNC: FINAL YEAR DRAMA STUDENTS ATTEND ‘OSCARS’!

A Level Drama and Theatre Studies students recently attended a celebratory graduation ceremony in the College’s New Theatre, where their achievements were recognised through a personalised, fun Oscars style event to celebrate a successful two years at HNC.

The event, hosted by Emma and Jan who teach the Drama and Theatre Studies A Level, celebrated each and every student on the course who over the last two years have worked hard to achieve their qualification. Throughout the event, students were invited to the stage to accept their awards and were recognised for their efforts both inside and outside of the classroom, with their achievements and wider contributions to college life noted. Award winners were invited to the stage to make a speech, accept a certificate of achievement, and take away a small gift bag including keepsakes and chocolates – and thankfully no one went over their allotted time, and the band did not have to cut anyone off mid-speech!

Emma Laws, Teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies comments “This fun end of year ceremony was created to not only celebrate our students’ hard work over the past two years but to recognise the talent and unique personalities of each member of our group. Over the past two years, our students have worked to become their best selves in a variety of ways, from honing their stage craft to taking part in a wide variety of productions. It was wonderful to spend time with our Year 13 students before they head off on to their next, exciting steps, and I look forward to hearing all about their future successes”.
