IT’S NO DRAMA – HNC WELCOMES BACK ALUMNUS FOR PROFESSIONAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

HNC’s Drama and Theatre Studies A Level students have taken part in a practical theatre workshop with HNC alumnus, Ben Malone, who has recently returned from Cyprus where he was employed as a professional performer for Sea Cruise – a global performing arts company who are renowned for their awe-inspiring productions in hotels and on cruise ships across the world.

Ben, who studied Drama and Theatre Studies at HNC from 2018-2020, graduated from The Arden School of Theatre in 2023 with First Class Honours, worked with our current cohort of A Level students to observe and feedback on their work in preparation for their examined theatre units. Ben shared his expertise with the group from his time at Arden and on the stage, helping our Drama and Theatre studies students to consider how they can take their performances to the next level. He also held an informal Q&A with the group, sharing his advice about how to crack the competitive performing arts industry.

Emma Laws, Teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies comments “We were delighted to welcome Ben back to HNC to inspire the next generation of actors here at HNC. Ben is a shining example of how students can become their best selves at HNC, and his success in both his studies and his career after HNC show how hard work and determination really will allow our students to progress confidently on to their dream careers. Thank you to Ben for taking the time out of his busy schedule – we look forward to welcoming you back to HNC soon”
