31 Independent learning at HNC As a young adult, one of the biggest differences you will experience is the transition from school to independent learning. For every hour in the classroom, you will be expected to complete around an hour of work independently. Although you will not be in lessons every hour of the day, you will be studying full time at College. We maximise face to face teaching time, and strongly encourage students to use the learning spaces outside of lesson or enrichment sessions for independent study. Our facilities have been developed to ensure that they fully support your learning experience.
