SUPPORTING OUR PARENTS/CARERS JOINING OUR COMMUNITY IN SEPTEMBER 2024

HNC has revealed that parents/carers of students who have applied for 2024 entry can now access a special parent/carer guide to life at HNC. This short guide is designed to provide an insight into the transition to post-16 studies, and shares some key important points about the journey to HNC.

The short guide covers a range of areas including:
• An exploration of the different types of Level 3 qualifications on offer at HNC
• How we support students to choose a study programme that will support their vision for the future, and how predicted grades form part of this process
• An insight into what happens at interview and the questions applicants will be asked
• The transition to life at HNC, and what College life looks like
• How their son/daughter can prepare for the step up to Level 3 study
• Details of student support, and how parents/carers will be supported to stay involved in their son/daughter’s journey
• Key dates, and important steps in the application journey

The guide can be accessed here.

Hayley Doyle, Admissions and Marketing Director comments: “The move to College is an exciting time for students, but often our parents and carers find they are navigating new territory as they support their son or daughter to choose the right place for their post-16 studies. Although our applicants are young adults transitioning towards independence and will deal directly with HNC during their application to enrolment journey, we understand the vital role our parents and carers play in ensuring their son or daughter can successfully start the journey to becoming their best selves as a student at HNC. This short guide answers some key questions, and we hope will be useful for our prospective parents and carers as they support their son or daughter during this important period in their education.”
