WITH LOVE FROM OUR BIG FAMILY

Today (Friday 15 December) we were delighted to welcome One Big Family volunteers to HNC who joined us to collect the care packages and toys our students and staff have donated as part of our Christmas appeal to support local homeless and vulnerably housed people. One Big Family was chosen by our Student Council, who wanted to support a small, local charity working in our community to make a difference this festive season.

Our generous community donated hats, gloves and socks along with festive treats and hygiene essentials which we then created around 40 care packages with. We have also collected a range of toys, and bulk food donations (donated by our caterers Impact Food) which will support One Big Family post Christmas. The images above and below share more, and reflect the generosity of our College.

Marcus Smith-Connor, Principal comments: “The success of our One Big Family Christmas appeal reflects how as a College our community is empathetic, considerate and kind. Students who join our community will learn more about how they can shape a better future, and this fundraising drive exemplifies how a small act of kindness can create a ripple effect and a nicer world for us all. Kindness really is the gift that gives twice, and we would like to send all of our best wishes to the individuals and families One Big Family will be supporting this festive season and beyond.”

Jayne from One Big Family comments: “Thank you to staff and students for your generosity. These wonderful donations will really make a difference to a stranger this Christmas.”
