YOU’RE HIRED! OUR YOUNG ENTERPRISE TEAMS SHINE AT REGIONAL FINALS

HNC has revealed that our two Young Enterprise teams shone at the recent Young Enterprise regional finals. HNC’s ‘Colourful Adventures’ team won the regional final along with the Customer Service Award and will now go forward to the Yorkshire, Humber and North Regional Final. Our ‘Woven Together’ team also won the Creativity Award in recognition of the uniqueness of their product.

Young Enterprise is a national charity that works to motivate young people to succeed in the changing world of work by equipping them with work skills, knowledge and confidence. HNC offers students the opportunity to participate in Young Enterprise as an enrichment and this year we have two separate teams. Colourful Adventures – which created a special colouring book to help parents/carers to discuss challenging together – and ‘Woven Together’ – a clothing brand with meaning. Last week both teams joined the regional final, pitching their businesses, passion and enthusiasm to a panel of judges. As part of this, each team had to create a business report in advance, and at the regional heat they had a ten minute interview with the judges and delivered a four minute presentation which was scored by the panel. Matthew Kuszyk, who has been working with our Colourful Adventures team comments: “I am so proud that our Colourful Adventures team has been selected as the winner of both the regional final and the Customer Service Award. The next step is the Yorkshire, Humber and North Regional Final, and if they shine here they will go forward to the national finals! The team has an incredibly strong product, and we can’t wait to see how they do in the next phase.”

Sara Graul, who has been working with our ‘Woven Together’ team adds: “I was blown away by the ideas from all teams in the competition, and it was a close call between Woven Together and our other HNC team, Colourful Adventures. The team took away a well deserved award for Creativity, and I know from how the team performed in this, that they all have a bright future ahead of them.”
